2. Doors that Stick
A sticking door is a common problem that many homeowners deal with, and it can be extremely annoying. After all, opening and closing are some of the most basic functions of a door. One of the most common causes of a door sticking is when the hinges get dirty. In fact, the hinges can be responsible for most common door problems, so it almost always makes sense to start by cleaning the hinges. We also recommend lubricating the hinges with WD-40 or even just olive oil. Not only will it keep your door from squeaking, but it will also ensure that it operates smoothly.
If you’ve cleaned and lubed the hinges and your door is still sticking, the problem may be the door jamb. If this is the case, try drawing in the jamb by screwing a long screw into the latch side of the door and the frame. This can free up some space, allowing your door to operate smoothly.

5. Doors that Won’t Stay Latched

If your door won’t stay latched, it’s most likely because the latches are misaligned, and the door isn’t hitting the strike plate. If your door doesn’t have a strike plate for some reason, you may want to consider investing in one. They are very inexpensive and will make your lock safer. If you do and the door simply isn’t hitting the strike plate, you can unscrew the plate and find out exactly where the door meets the jamb, then screw the strike plate into that spot.
If you find the problem is the latch itself, it’s most likely time to replace your door hardware.
6. Broken or Foggy Glass
Broken and foggy windows are big problems that only get worse the longer they are left unattended. Broken or improperly sealed windows allow condensation to form. Not only does this condensation block your view, but it also makes your windows an ideal environment for mold to develop, which can then spread to the frame and cause further damage. Your best bet here is to replace the glass or the window to avoid further damage.
